South excursion Ciudadella
Excursion by the South of Ciutadella
The South zone of Ciutadella is the one of beaches more outstanding and preferred by the tourists by its small and familiar size. Thus, of the most known, we found Cove Macarella and Cala in Turqueta, that have been object of popular campaigns by their protection like natural zone. Are gathered beaches, prote'ge'es of the wind and storms, with a small torrent to the bottom and a pool of salt water where they inhabit turtles.
We arrive at them taking the highway from Ciutadella towards oratorical from Sant Joan de Missa (small rural Church of century XIV, to about 4 kilometers of the city, of great importance and protagonism during the celebrations). Against this oratory, the highway is branched off, one towards Cove Macarella (with prehistoric caves in its cliffs, and with encamped permission of between its pine groves) and the other towards Cove in Turqueta.
Also we will find other coves worthy to be mentioned as Cove in Bosch, White Cove, Santandria, Are Saura (the considered one like better and more recommendable, and by which, to arrive, we must visit a prehistoric town, Is Catlar, with room hipóstila, walls of defense, taula incomplete, talaiots and rest of Roman towers)…
Finalizing the route, it is singular the fact that the houses of Are Saura or Torre Saura, are constructed next to a beautiful medieval tower, of square plant.
